About Fujian
Fujian Province, abbreviated as "Min", is a provincial-level administrative region of the People's Republic of China. The provincial capital Fuzhou is located on the southeast coast of China, adjacent to Zhejiang Province in the northeast, bordered by Jiangxi Province in the northwest, connected to Guangdong Province in the southwest, and facing Taiwan Province across the Taiwan Strait in the southeast. The total land area is 124000 square kilometers.
Fujian Province is located at the transportation hub of the East China Sea and the South China Sea. It was the starting point of the Silk Road and Zheng He's voyages to the West in history, as well as a hub for maritime trade and commerce. Fujian Province has a terrain that is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, presenting a "mountain and sea" trend. The mountainous and hilly areas within the province account for about 90% of the total area; Located across the four major water systems of Minjiang, Jinjiang, Jiulong River, and Tingjiang, it belongs to a subtropical maritime monsoon climate.
In October 2019, it was selected as a national digital economy innovation and development pilot zone. As of the end of 2019, Fujian Province had 9 prefecture level cities including Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Putian, Longyan, Sanming, Nanping, and Ningde. As of February 2021, there were a total of 11 county-level cities, 42 counties, and 31 municipal districts.
The permanent population is 39.73 million, and the regional GDP has reached 4239.5 billion yuan, an increase of 7.6%. The per capita regional GDP was 107139 yuan, an increase of 6.7% over the previous year.
